Comments
Shows a variety of instruments, including "snappers or castagnets," horns, bells, drums, flutes. See also P.E.H. Hair, Adam Jones, and Robin Law, Barbot on Guinea [1678-1712] (London, 1992), vol. 2, after p. 570. A number of these items, but arranged differently on the page, are also shown in Awnsham and John Churchill, A Collection of Voyages (London, 1732; vol. 5, plate 22, p. 251) in the translation of Barbot's late 17th century account.
