The same image (captioned "révolte sur un batiment négrier"), but slightly cropped, is in Albert Laporte, Recits du Vieux Marins (Paris, 1883), p. 267--suggesting that LaPorte is not the original source for the image in Aquet (see image LCP-13 on this website).
