This colored illustration (in a copy of the Fox book located at Widener Library, Harvard University) was first published in black and white in Carl B. Wadstrom, An Essay on Colonization, particularly applied to the Western coast of Africa... in Two Parts (London, 1794, 1795; reprinted New York, A.M. Kelley, 1968).
