Comments
Caption, "Scene on a Cotton Plantation. Gathering Cotton." The scene has been fabricated by the artist of the Casell Illustrated History, although it seems to be based on other illustrations and/or descriptions. The area is not identified but it is probably a generalized view of a U.S. Southern plantation.
